WorkSafe BC Approved Courses
Customers that need WorkSafe-approved certification can attend workplace-approved courses such as OFA level 1. This course is 8 hours long. Participants can combine this training with standard first aid to make it standard workplace emergency first aid. This course is available for participants that need WorkSafe BC-approved certification from a two-day course. Participants receive two awards after successfully completing this course.
CPR ‘Only’ Training
Three different types of CPR training are available in a stand-alone format:
- CPR ‘A’ and AED – 4-hour course
- CPR ‘C’ and AED – 5-hour course
- CPR ‘HCP’ and AED – 6-hour course
Stand-alone CPR is available if you do not want to enroll in the full combined / comprehensive training course.

What to do if you feel faint…
- Find a place to sit down and lie down. Once you feel better, stand up slowly.
- Place your head between your knees.
What to do when somebody faints…
- Place him or her onto his or her back.
- Raise the victim’s leader slightly higher than the chest by at least 12 inches.
- Loosen clothing and accessories.
- If the victim remains unconscious for more than one minute, call your local emergency number.
- Check the victim’s airway for a blockage (if you find one, perform abdominal thrusts / back blows).
- Check for signs of circulation and breathing. Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in their absence.
