Large selection of training programs

CPR training programs have three levels seen above: “A”, “C”, and “HCP”. All levels include automated external defibrillation (AED) training. AEDs are machines that are able to detect heart rhythms and apply shock to the heart if needed.
Combined First Aid and CPR Classes
If you need workplace-approved first aid training you want to enroll in standard first aid. This course includes CPR and AED training and teaches participants CPR rescue techniques as per the latest guidelines from the American Heart Association.

Thunder Bay First Aid offers the lowest enrolment fees for all classes. Rates are paid once during enrolment with no additional expenses incurred for the rest of the training. Enrolment fees include taxes, certification fees, and training manuals.
If you drop out of a training program and give a 72-hour notice, you are entitled to a full refund of the enrolment fee.
Certification from St Mark James Training
Once you have completed your training program, a certificate from St Mark James is awarded to you. The certificate is valid for three years throughout Canada and will meet various academic and workplace requirements. Re-certification for standard first aid, CPR level ‘C’ and ‘HCP’ certificates are also available to participants that meet the following prerequisites:
- The previous certificate must be current
- The previous certificate must not be from a re-certification course
- The previous certificate must have been issued from a St Mark James provider

Anaphylaxis symptoms
Anaphylaxis is a severe allergic reaction to an allergen, typically shellfish, insect venom, and plant pollen. This reaction is life-threatening and without a dose of epinephrine, the victim could die. First aid rescuers should remember the following signs and symptoms that an allergic reaction is developing into anaphylaxis.
- Changes in the level of consciousness
- Shortness of breath, difficulty breathing
- Rapid, weak pulse
- Rash
- Nausea and vomiting
